A new coating

And after removing all the old antifouling Isabell gets a new coating of paint on the underwater hull. First she is white, then grey, then green and the grey again, then green again, and ends up nice and red…

Winter job in Karlskrona

During the winter of 2009 to 2010 the entire bottom paint antifouling layer was scraped off and the hull was left to dry. In the spring of 2010 a number of layers of epoxy sealer was put on the hulls underwater part. It is looking great!

This is how I looked after a couple of hours scraping. Blue in the face! But it was nice to see the difference after so many hours of work.

S/Y Isabell is a 1980-built Hallberg Rassy Monsun. Since the fall of 2008 many nautical miles of sailing fun have been covered. The skipper and Isabell have sailed all of the Swedish coastline from Norway in the NW to Finland in the far NE. All corners of the Baltic Sea were visited. To celebrate the 40th anniversary of this splendid yacht, a trip from Stockholm to The Netherlands was planned for the summer of 2020. It went well.
